Workshop on Methane Emissions in the Mexican Oil and Gas Sector

As part of the oil and gas regulatory support project, CCAP and CATF organized a second workshop in May 2017. This workshop focused on baseline emission development, quantification, and reporting, as well as a lengthy discussion on the data provided by national inventories and emission registries and the data gaps that affect the development of regulation. The event featured CCAP, CATF and outside experts from Environment and Climate Change Canada, and was structured as a working session to address specific concerns related to the development and drafting of regulation. The workshop enjoyed enthusiastic participation from representatives of the Mexican Energy Ministry (SENER), the Environment Ministry (SEMARNAT), the National Agency for Safety, Energy and Environment (ASEA) and the National Institute of Ecology and Climate Change (INECC).
