The Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) – in partnership with Green Climate Fund (GCF) board members Leonardo Martinez (United States) and Tosi Mpanu Mpanu (Democratic Republic of Congo) – hosted a policy dinner on the margins of the 13th Board Meeting of the GCF in Songdo, South Korea. The event was convened with the generous support of the International Climate Initiative (IKI), which is supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).

The dinner brought together GCF board members, alternates, advisors, and other participants to discuss:
The range of country support needs to develop transformational projects, programs, and country strategies and how these needs might be effectively supported by the Readiness program and Project Preparation Facility (PPF).
How the GCF can support programmatic approaches to deliver funding at scale.
CCAP will continue to engage with the GCF Secretariat and board members in the coming months in order to discuss specific recommendations on how to enhance readiness and project preparation support, drawing on the inputs of a working group of developing country policy makers convened by CCAP. CCAP will also provide inputs to the board on the how the GCF can effectively operationalize a programmatic approach, and promote replicable models, particularly for clean energy solutions.
