FERC Launches Information-Driven Approach to Bulk Power System Resilience

The Center for Clean Air Policy (CCAP) supports FERC’s common sense, information-driven approach to decision making on resilience of the bulk power system. We agree that evolving resource portfolios warrant attention to regional strategies to identify and address critical risks to electric reliability and resilience. Consistent with the Federal Power Act, we anticipate this new proceeding will treat all resources, including clean energy and storage technologies, in a non-discriminatory manner, based on the reliability and resilience attributes they deliver to the electric grid. We look forward to participating in FERC’s new proceeding.
