About the Event
Recycle Organics (RO) will kick off the new year with the launch of its home composting program in Grenada, following successful country visits in Guyana, Belize and Saint Lucia. With climate finance support from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), RO aims to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions from the waste sector while promoting sustainable waste management practices in multiple communities across the country.
Residents will participate in composting workshops where they will learn effective composting practices, ensuring the long-term success of the initiative.
Grenada’s recent experiences with Hurricane Beryl, alongside other climate impacts like flooding and droughts, underscore the urgency of mitigating emissions. Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell emphasized these challenges at COP29, noting the critical need for real, immediate action.
