About the Event

This COP29 event, hosted by Island Innovation in the Moana Blue Pacific Pavilion, will showcase the context of resilience in Pacific SIDS and the importance of climate adaptation, traditional knowledge and inclusivity. CCAP Research Assistant Joshua Pangelinan will present on sustainable agricultural practices, capacity building and ocean stewardship, with a keen focus on equity and inclusion.


Other panelists will cover topics, such as:


  • How traditional practices in the Pacific Islands intersect with modern climate science to address climate change

  • The importance of gender equity, youth engagement, and social inclusion in climate adaptation strategies

  • Examples of how sustainable agriculture can increase resilience and support livelihoods in Pacific SIDS

  • The importance of fostering ocean stewards in Small Island Developing States to ensure the development and safeguard the livelihoods of coastal communities
