Maria Paz Cigarán
Maria Paz is co-Founder and CEO of the Libelula Group, a Peruvian Think Tank that promotes climate compatible development in Peru and Latin America.
She has more than 17 years of work with the public, private sector and international and intergovernmental organizations in Climate Change and Development. She has supported the Peruvian Government in the International Climate Change (CC) Negotiations, led the Governmental National Air Quality, CC Program and Negotiation team for 7 years; co-chaired UNFCCC (SBSTA) negotiations meetings; served as Lead Reviewer of Annex I GHG Inventories to the UNFCCC; provided climate change strategic and technical assistance for LAC countries, coordinated project implementation and facilitated international meetings, and work as an advisor to different private firms in Peru. She has co-chaired the Low Emissions Development Strategies Global Partnership (LEDs GP), and is a co-founder and member of the Steering Committee of L+1 (CEOs for Sustainability) and Sistema B Peru (Business for Good, Triple Impact Businessess).
She holds and Industrial Engineer degree and a specialization in air pollution from the Kitakyushu International Training Center in Japan.
