Second MAIN-Asia Dialogue

7.24.12 - 7.26.12

Over the course of the CCAP’s second Mitigation Action Implementation Network (MAIN) Asia regional dialogue, participant countries greatly improved their understanding of Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) as policies that will achieve both sustainable development and climate mitigation benefits.

The meeting, held in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam in July 2012, brought together seven developing country teams of policymakers representing key ministries involved in the design of NAMAs. With a focus on NAMA finance, and an overview of supported NAMA criteria, participants came away from the dialogue recognizing many policies already implemented (or soon to be implemented) to further sustainable development, health, or mobility could be considered NAMAs.
