COP 21 – CCAP at the 21st Conference of Parties

CCAP is participating in the 21st Conference of Parties (COP21) of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC), in Paris, France from November 30 – December 11, 2015. COP21 aims to adopt a global agreement on climate. CCAP will be actively participating in COP21 on the sidelines of the negotiations. We will be hosting a side event on transformation in the energy sector and achieving INDC targets. We will also be participating in bilateral meetings and a variety of other public and private events on mitigation, finance, Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs), INDCs, and a global climate agreement.

CCAP-ICSE side event: Wednesday, December 2, 11:30 AM -1:00 PM, Observer Room 08
This event will examine how countries can pursue energy sector transformation. Developing and developed country presenters will share their experiences in promoting clean energy and anticipated next steps on turning their INDCs into reality in the sector. A panel of executives from private sector clean energy firms will discuss how policies and technology advancements are creating opportunities to deploy cleaner sources of electricity generation and increase energy efficiency to meet climate change and clean energy policy targets.
Mitigation Momentum: Tuesday, December 1, 10:00-12:00 pm, German Pavilion
CCAP Director of International Policy Analysis, Laurence Blandford, will present at the launch of a new report on the links between NAMAs and INDCs, hosted by the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) and Ecofys Germany. CCAP authored a chapter on Financing NAMAs and INDCs, which explores the role of NAMAs as an implementation tool for INDCs.
